The Veterinarian provides comprehensive veterinary care, including scheduled services and surgeries, to animals housed in the shelter for placement. This role also involves overseeing all aspects of veterinary care during shifts, including urgent situations and medically necessary euthanasia.
Applicants must hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent and possess a current Texas State Veterinary License and DEA license, or the ability to obtain them before employment starts. Required abilities include physical strength to lift up to 40 pounds, strong judgment, effective communication, and the capacity to work accurately under high-stress, fast-paced conditions.

The Shelter Medicine Veterinarian is a licensed veterinarian responsible for providing veterinary care to the animals in the shelter for placement. The Shelter Medicine Veterinarian may also be responsible for performing other services that arise in our Martin Clinic and community environments including spay/neuter and other soft tissue surgeries.
Alternating Wednesday through Saturday and Tuesday through Friday from 8am to 6pm
