The Histology Technologist is responsible for processing and preparing histological specimens through tissue embedding, microtomy, and various staining techniques for diagnostic evaluation. This role also involves maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring accurate slide preparation, and adhering to quality control and safety protocols.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Biological Science, or a related field to qualify for HT certification, and must hold the HTL certification from ASCP, along with any applicable state licenses. One to two years of experience in a clinical histology laboratory is preferred.

The Histology Technologist processes and prepares histological specimens for diagnostic evaluation. This role performs tissue embedding, microtomy, and staining using routine, special, and immunohistochemical techniques. The Histology Technologist ensures accurate slide preparation for pathologist review, maintains laboratory equipment and supplies, and follows quality control and safety protocols to support diagnostic pathology services.
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Biological Science, or related field required to qualify for HT certification required Completion of an accredited Histotechnician or Histotechnologist program preferred 1-2 years of experience in a clinical histology laboratory preferred
Knowledge of histology techniques, staining protocols, and laboratory procedures. Skill in operating histology laboratory equipment with accuracy and precision.
