The Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) RN prepares and clears all scheduled surgery patients prior to admission by performing excellent patient triage assessments, organizing documentation, completing necessary assessments, and ensuring anesthesia preparation and clearance. This role involves organizing chart production, completing history & physicals, obtaining operative consents, providing patient education, and confirming all preoperative requirements, including medication knowledge and diagnostic tests, are met.
Candidates must possess current Registered Nurse licensure in Georgia and have two years of nursing experience, along with current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS certifications are preferred. The role requires flexibility to work in both Pre-Operative and PACU settings, potentially involving travel to affiliated surgery centers.
Description Athens Orthopedic Ambulatory Surgery Center located in Athens, GA is hiring for a Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) RN.
Position may require travel to other affiliated surgery centers. Candidate must be flexible and willing to work in both Pre-Operative and PACU settings as needed.
Prepares and clears all patients scheduled for surgery prior to their admission date to prevent surgery cancellations and delays. Exemplifies excellent patient triage assessments by either verbal conversations or an in person visit.Organize and complete chart production, assessments, complete history & physicals, anesthesia preparation/clearance, operative consents and education. Medication knowledge and interactions is also vital.Confirm all pre operative requirements are met and notify any abnormal test results to anesthesia. Knowledge of performing diagnostic test such as EKG's & venipunctures for lab drawings.
Duties: And responsibilities:
7am - 5pm Monday - Friday (Variable based on departmental needs)
