The Medication Technician is primarily responsible for documenting, delivering, and administering prescribed medicines to residents while providing superior customer service and adhering to all regulations. This role also involves assisting residents with daily medications, treatments, and general care activities as assigned within the scope of practice.
Requirements summary
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and have a minimum of one year of work experience as a Caregiver or Medication Technician. An active First Aid/CPR/BLS Certification is required, and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred.

The Medication Technician is responsible for documenting, delivering and administering medicines to residents as prescribed by physician(s) with superior customer service and in accordance with all policies, procedures, government regulators and guidelines.
Pay Range
$18.00 - $19.00
Schedule: Sunday-Monday 2:00pm-10:30pm
Responsibilities
Assist residents with their daily medications, treatments and resident care as assigned and
with the scope of practice, policy and procedures, and government regulations
Observe, verify and document that medication is ingested or applied as directed
Notify supervisor if prescribed medication is not administered according to directions and
documenting the reason(s) why
Maintain clear, accurate, complete and confidential records on resident medication and care
in accordance with established procedures and governing requirements
Coordinate medication services with resident, pharmacy and physician(s) and verifying
dosages with physician prior to dispensing
Track all orders for medication changes and/or refills – prepare medications for distribution
up to 24 hours in advance
Participate in and complete narcotic counts at the beginning and end of shift, reporting any
and all discrepancies to supervisor(s) immediately
