Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients under established guidelines and in collaboration with physicians. They develop plans for further evaluation, provide appropriate treatment within their scope of practice, and refer problems outside their scope to a physician.
Candidates must possess an unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License or be eligible for one, and must be a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. A minimum of two years of experience as an FNP or PA, preferably in primary care or urgent care, is required.
