The Respiratory Therapist will set up and operate various respiratory care equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases or illnesses under supervision. This role also involves the delivery of necessary medications to assist in controlling respiratory ailments.
Respiratory Services Employment Type: Per Diem Shift: Rotating 12hr shifts Location: Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital Position Purpose Under supervision of the department manager and/upon request of the physician order sets up and operates various types of respiratory care equipment to be utilized in the Diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease or illness. Also delivery of medications needed to assist in control of Respiratory ailments. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will: Demonstrates competence in providing Oxygen Therapy Demonstrates competence in Arterial Blood Gas Sampling Recognizes changes in patient condition and responds appropriately (notifies nurse/physician, initiates CPR) Sets up and maintains ventilator functions Demonstrates appropriate use of pulse oximetry device Participates in the education process of patients and families
Current PA License in Respiratory Therapy Must be registered by the NBRC AHA BLS HS graduate or equivalent, graduate of an AMA approved respiratory therapy program Position Highlights: Work/Life balance with flexible schedules. Candidates must possess a current Pennsylvania License in Respiratory Therapy and be registered by the NBRC, along with holding an AHA BLS certification. A high school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an AMA-approved respiratory therapy program are minimum educational requirements.
