The technician works under the supervision of a pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care services, including processing medication orders and preparing medications for dispensing. They also assist in inventory management and contribute to quality programs.
Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred experience in automated pharmacy equipment and hospital settings. A CPHT certification and state board registration are required.
Works under the direct supervision of the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care services, while considering patient specific factors, through the prioritization and processing of medication orders, the preparing of medications for dispensing, distribution and stocking of patient care locations for subsequent drug administration. Performs data collections, assembly and interpretation for limited quality programs. Performs other duties as assigned.
