The Respiratory Therapist administers medications and performs therapeutic modalities and diagnostic testing for the cardio-pulmonary system. They respond to emergency situations, manage life support, and maintain patient charts.
Candidates must have an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy and hold a current State of Michigan License in Respiratory Care. Certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS are required within specified timeframes.
Certifications and Licensures
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Required Equivalent Experience - ACLS certification within 12 months of hire. BLS - Basic Life Support Required Equivalent Experience - Upon Hire. NBRC - National Brd Respiratory Care Required Equivalent Experience - Employees who received credentials prior to July 1, 2002, are not required to participate in NBRC recertification programs. CRTs will have 12 months from date of hire to obtain RRT if hired after 1/1/2024 PALS - Ped Advance Life Support Required Equivalent Experience - Required within 12 months of hire RT - Licensed Respiratory Therapist Required Equivalent Experience -
