The Anesthesia Technician supports anesthesia care under the supervision of an anesthesiologist, preparing for and assisting in surgical procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, ensuring compliance with policies, and coordinating patient care.

Key Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the anesthesiologist, or designee, properly prepare for and support all designated procedures.
Works in all areas of surgery to support all aspects of anesthesia care, including pre and post-surgical procedures
Address difficult or conflict situations constructively and seeks appropriate assistance.
Ensures compliance with all regulatory, organizational, and departmental policies and procedures, under the supervision of the anesthesiologist.
Actively participates in ongoing quality and process improvement.
Maintains and protects patient confidentiality.
Performs routine maintenance of anesthesia equipment.
Coordinates patient care and monitoring equipment availability with PACU and Critical Care units.
Manages work assignments to ensure completion of patient care activities i.e.; keep assigned rooms stocked, clean and ready for our next patient; Works with perioperative team to facilitate a prompt room turnover.
Considers budget while maintaining sufficient stock, and reviews for outdates, supplies and non-scheduled drugs in the anesthesia workroom, machines, carts and auxiliary anesthetizing locations.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of comparable patient care experience and/or emergency services
Certification: BLS, ACLS, and PALS though the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
License: N/A
Minimum or 1 year experience in a Cardiac OR and/or Level 1 Trauma Center.
