The Scrub Tech assists with basic nursing care and preparation of surgical patients under the supervision of a staff nurse. They prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures and pass instruments and supplies as needed.

Assists with basic nursing care and preparation of surgical patients of all ages under the direct supervision of the staff nurse assigned.
Assists in identifying patient needs based on age specific data.
Selects appropriate instruments and supplies and sets up tables as required for specific operations.
Prepares and maintains the sterile field for all surgical procedures.
Prepares and passes instruments, sponges, and supplies needed in the operative procedure and maintains a correct count.
Functions as a member of the sterile team.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Generally Monday-Friday, 7am-3: 30pm

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent education/experience. They should also be able to complete Basic Life Support Certification and work effectively as a team member.
