High school graduate or GED and Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology, other associated Imaging technologies, or other approved training in Computerized Tomography required.
CT experience strongly preferred.
AARRT registry, registry eligible. If not registered in CT, must become CT registered within 2 years of hire date. AHA BLS-HCP required; May be required to obtain/maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP based on specific work unit.
The multi-modality Radiology Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures for radiological diagnosis or treatment of patients, using injection skills as needed, and other related techniques to produce images for interpretation by a radiologist or other credentialed specialist.
Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain quality images. Performs IV contrast injections and other skills as required.
May schedule and register patients. Maintain patient files.
Evaluates, prepares, positions and observes patients with a high degree of professional ethics, care, courtesy, patience and safety.
Complies with all Carilion Clinic and Imaging policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines.
Trains students and staff as assigned.
Interprets information needed to identify patient’s requirement relative to specific needs and provides care per applicable policy and procedures.
Interacts with patients, families, visitors and all members of the healthcare team to develop, coordinate and manage the plan of care.
Works with physicians, other healthcare providers and patients.
May provide care at other Carilion facilities to meet patient needs.
High school graduate or GED. Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology, other associated imaging technologies, or other approved training in Angiography, Diagnostic Radiology, Computerized Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine or Ultrasound required.

ARRT registry, registry eligible or other required certifications per modality as listed. AHA BLS-HCP required.
Interpersonal, technical skills and flexibility in assignments. Must be able to function independently. Must have good computer and communication skills.

Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
