DESCRIPTION: Olympic Medical Physicians’ hospitalist team serves Olympic Memorial Hospital in Port Angeles, on Washington State’s beautiful North Olympic Peninsula. The OMP Hospitalist service seek team-oriented Internal Medicine Physicians to evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation and care to adult patients presenting with inpatient-level medical problems.
Highlights of the practice include: --7-on, 7-off schedule, occasionally different hours may be required --Integration and leadership in a multi-disciplinary team devoted to hospital medicine --Ready access to local consultants as part of a large multispecialty group --Integrated electronical healthcare record system (EPIC) with local and regional hospital systems The successful Hospitalist Physician at OMP is focused on providing excellent person-centered care to rural patients as part of a multi-disciplinary team. EDUCATION Medical degree from an accredited school. Successful completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA), approved postgraduate training program in Internal Medicine. Successful completion of requirements of the ABIM board for certification in internal medicine. Maintains appropriate continuing medical education credits per Washington State and OMC Medical Staff requirements. EXPERIENCE Completion of internal medicine residency. Two years of practice in hospital medicine, preferred. LICENSURE/CREDENTIALS Board certified or active participant in the examination process leading to certification in Internal Medicine and area of sub-specialty (if any). Recertifies at appropriate intervals per specialty board requirements. Maintains an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Washington. Maintains current DEA registration. Maintains current ACLS certification. Maintains appropriate privileges and membership on the OMC Medical Staff.
