Summary: The Cardiac Device Specialist is responsible for the management of all patients with implanted cardiac devices. This includes performing device interrogation, programming, and review of patient algorithms during device clinic. In addition, the job is responsible for following the status of all device patients, registering the status internally and with the manufacturer and following recall notices from the manufacturers. This position will also be responsible for assisting with establishing and maintaining a remote monitoring program that includes scheduling, downloading and analyzing clinical device transmissions.

Functions: Performs remote device monitoring including scheduling, downloading clinical information, and analyzing transmissions. Performs clinical interrogation of pacemaker and AICD devices. Maintains and analyzes algorithms; EKGS and other device interrogation data and prepares preliminary reports for the providers. Programs pacemaker and AICD devices under the direction of a provider. Enroll and educate new patients into remote monitoring system. Educates patients and provides follow-up reminders on device checks according to established protocols. Ensures charges are accurately captured for device interrogation by appropriate documentation for coding & billing. Maintains/reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information. Records tests and examination results and then follows up with patient Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
