The surgical technologist assists the surgical team by preparing the operating room, managing sterile instruments, and supporting surgeons during procedures. They are also responsible for patient preparation, monitoring vital signs, and cleaning/restocking the operating room post-surgery.
Candidates should have 0-2 years of clinical experience and must be certified in CPR. Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program is preferred but not required.
Supervision received: Physician and/or Registered Nurse
Surgical technologists, also called scrubs and surgical or operating room technicians, assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel. Surgical technologists are members of operating room teams, which most commonly include surgeons, anesthesiologists, and circulating nurses.
Normal busy office environment with much telephone work.
