Performs routine blood collection on patients of all age groups, including neonates and infants. Demonstrates the necessary skills to function effectively in the laboratory's specimen processing and receiving area.
Requires a high school diploma, GED, or certificate, along with completion of a vocational phlebotomy program or three months of experience. Candidates must be able to interact professionally with patients and healthcare staff.
Under the supervision of Manager, Preanalytical Laboratory Services and Phlebotomy Supervisors, performs all duties of Phlebotomist responsibilities including routine blood collection on all age groups to include neonates and infants. In addition, demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to function in Specimen Processing and Receiving area of the Laboratory. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients’ in assigned area.
HS EQ: High School Diploma, GED or Certificate
