About the role

The Mental Health Technician provides continuous patient care, supervision, and role modeling for patients ranging from preschool to geriatric ages. They function as an active member of the treatment team under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

  • Wellstone Regional Hospital is a 100-bed acute care facility located in Jeffersonville, Indiana and has been providing quality health care to the residents of Southern Indiana and the Louisville area since 2003.
  • Wellstone specializes in the treatment of Adolescents, Children, and the Adult population.
  • In addition to our in-patient services, we offer out-patient programs as well.
  • Wellstone is seeking a dynamic and talented full-time Mental Health Technician, 5 days per week, 2nd shift (2:45p-11:15p), working every other weekend.
  • The Mental Health Technician function as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from preschool through geriatrics depending on which unit worked.
  • The Mental Health Technician work under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • This is a non-exempt hourly 2nd shift positions, eligible for shift differentials on 2nd shift.
  • Every other weekend is required.

Qualifications

Education

Must have High School Diploma, college preferred. CNA preferred.

Experience

  • Behavioral Health experience preferred but not required.
  • Additional
  • Requirements: CPI/CPR training must be completed prior to working any unit independently. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours. Must complete and pass screening process.

Requirements
