The CT Scan Tech will operate a CT scanner to produce radiographs and assure quality results while training fellow staff. They will perform complex procedures in a busy Radiology Department and foster patient-centered care.
Candidates must hold a RI state Radiology license and CT supplemental license, be registered with ARRT, and have current CPR certification. A minimum of two years of formal training in Radiologic Technology and six months of experience in a hospital radiology department is required.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform complex procedures in CT in a busy Radiology Department. Assure quality results Train fellow students and staff in imaging procedures and techniques About the Department: Department of five scanners both GE and Siemens Work with state-of-the-art technology including use of GE Revolution Ascend , Ulrich CT Motion Injector Teaching environment with training available for all types of cardiac imaging Team environment with support staff assisting the technologist by transporting patients and performing ancillary duties MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BASIC KNOWLEDGE: Must hold a RI state Radiology license and CT supplemental license from the DOH. Must be registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT). Must hold a current CPR certification from AHA, BLS for Healthcare Providers. Two years of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required, plus registration through the American Registry for Radiologic Technologists. EXPERIENCE: Six months ' experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital radiology department, plus six months specialized training in the operation of the CT Scanner. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work location is generally in the CT Scan area or satellite areas where there is little discomfort due to noise, dust or temperature. Exposed to radiation, but there is little chance of injury when established safety procedures are followed. Long periods of standing, along with walking, pushing potable equipment and lifting and positioning of patients is required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
