The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care, including assessment, admission, transfer, and discharge. They must also implement and evaluate patient care plans while maintaining compliance with state, federal, and JCAHO standards.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing school and hold a current Tennessee nursing license. A minimum of 6 months of clinical experience is required, along with BLS certification.
A Registered Nurse who demonstrates competencies and knowledge in all aspects of age specific care. Will demonstrate safe and effective practices per state, federal, JCAHO standard and/or regulations. Will be competent in the supervisory skills for employees within the assigned unit.
Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Experience: Required: 6 months clinical experience
Medical Surgical Nursing experience of at least 1 year. Emergency Room nursing experience of at least 2 years
The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. However, the Tennessee nursing license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non-compact state residents. Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.
Current Certification for ACLS. Current Certification for PALS
Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit. Demonstrates knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills. Responsible for direct and indirect patient care. Demonstrates assessment skills for admission of patients into the assigned unit. Responsible for admission, transfer and discharge of patients including the continuum of care. Possess knowledge of EHS, state, federal and JCAHO standards and/or regulations pertaining to patient care. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to select, develop, implement and evaluate plan of care on each patient. Responsible for interpretation and completion of LIP orders for patient care. Possess interpersonal skills which ensure effective communication with patients, families and other members of the health care team. Demonstrates safe practice and competencies for treatment including medication administration for patients in the assigned unit. Possess knowledge of current trends and new developments; knowledge of principles and practices of nursing applicable to those areas requiring special education.
