The Radiologic Technologist operates imaging equipment to produce diagnostic radiographs while ensuring patient comfort and safety. They also perform quality assurance activities and routine maintenance on radiology equipment to maintain departmental standards.
Candidates must hold a temporary license through IEMA and be licensed by the State of Illinois in Radiography. A graduation certificate from an ARRT-approved Radiology program is required.
As a Radiology Technologist at Quincy Medical Group, you will operate radiologic equipment to produce radiographs (x-rays) of the body for diagnostic purposes. This is an important role in supporting the healthcare team in providing accurate diagnostic images under the direction of a radiologist. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment while ensuring excellent patient care. Primary Responsibilities: Escort patients to exam rooms, prepare them for x-rays, and adjust immobilization devices to obtain clear images. Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation. Position radiologic equipment and adjust controls to produce the necessary images. Prepare and administer contrast media when appropriate. Ensure all necessary documentation, such as consent forms, is completed before exams. Participate in quality-assurance activities to monitor and improve departmental performance. Perform routine preventive maintenance on radiology equipment. Collaborate with nursing staff to verify patient schedules and special requirements. Temporary license through IEMA and licensed by the State of Illinois in Radiography required. Graduate of an ARRT-approved Radiology program. Previous clinical experience preferred.
