The therapist plans and administers therapeutic treatments and behavior modification strategies to assist residents in developing positive coping mechanisms. They also monitor progress, document behavior patterns, and coordinate discharge planning with families and placing agencies.
A Master's degree in a Human Services field such as Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling is required. Candidates with licensure or license eligibility in Virginia and experience working with children and adolescents with developmental or medical disabilities are preferred.
