The radiation therapist is responsible for the safe and accurate delivery of daily radiation treatments to patients according to prescribed parameters. They also perform quality assurance tasks, maintain patient charts, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Candidates must be graduates of an approved school of Radiation Technology and hold current licensure with the ARRT and the Indiana State Department of Health. A minimum of one year of practical work experience as a Radiation Therapist is required.
Accurately and safely delivers daily radiation treatments to scheduled patients. Ensures patient safety and promotes optimal outcomes while maintaining service excellence and performance efficiency. Interacts with others to promote achievement of department and organizational goals and objectives. Serves as a positive role model for healthcare providers.
1. Represents department in community activities. 2. Assist physics’ department in collecting planning CT data. 3. Assists nurses as needed with weekly patient vitals. 4. Transports patients. 5. Ensures department compliance with all environment of care regulations.
