One California Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Diagnostic Imaging Special Procedures Technologist, you will help our medical team and patients so they can obtain critical diagnostic information through complex diagnostic and interventional procedures, contributing significantly to accurate diagnoses and successful treatments.
Every day you will meticulously prepare procedure rooms, expertly operate advanced imaging equipment (e.g., fluoroscopy, angiography), safely administer contrast media, and skillfully assist physicians during intricate interventions.
You will be expected to provide essential patient education, closely monitor conditions for safety and comfort, maintain meticulous records, perform daily quality assurance checks, and strictly adhere to all radiation safety and regulatory guidelines.
To be successful in this role, you must combine ARRT certification, specialized advanced certification (e.g., CV, VI, or CT), and a profound understanding of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, and procedural imaging.
You will demonstrate exceptional critical thinking and meticulous attention to detail, thriving in a dynamic, high-pressure environment dedicated to delivering high-quality, precise special procedures imaging.
Minimize radiation exposure to patients, self and other persons.
Perform general and specialized radiographic procedures which meet the departments standard of quality.
Recognize and respond to allergic reactions and other life-threatening patient conditions which might arise during the examination process.
Act courteously and with tact in dealing with patients, visitors and the public.
Effectively and empathetically deal with agitated, ill and distressed patients.
Develop and maintain a cooperative working relationships with physicians and other healthcare personnel.
Job Requirements Required Five (5) years combination of education and experience: Medical Radiographer CA and Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech CA.
Basic Life Support - CPR from the American Heart Association Registered Technologist Radiuography ARRT (RTR).
Current California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) and Fluoroscopy (RTTF) licenses.
Displays competency in general radiology in addition to one other modality below: Angiography Special Procedures - Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Computerized Tomography (CT) Mammography Preferred Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT (RTR).
