About the role

The therapist will perform comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with pelvic floor conditions. They will also collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.

Pelvic Health Rehabilitation Specialist (PT/OT)

Nebraska medicine is seeking an outpatient pelvic floor therapist to join our team. The person in this role will work with a diverse patient population of all gender identities, addressing conditions such as urinary and bowel incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, chronic pelvic pain, oncology concerns, transgender care, pregnancy care and postpartum recovery, core dysfunction, and bowel dysfunction. The therapist will provide comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and offer patient education to improve quality of life.

The therapist will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including urologists, gynecologists, gastroenterologists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.

Work schedule details

  • Full time
  • Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm
  • Work week is split between working 3 days at our village pointe health center location and 2 days at our bellevue hospital location

Required qualifications

  • Pelvic floor therapist (Pt)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from a physical therapy program accredited by the commission of accredited physical therapy education (Capte).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required. Strong team orientation required.
  • Familiarity with items found in a typical pt (E.g., weights, exercise bikes, gait belts, ultrasound, traction, ambulatory devices, mats, etc.) required.
  • Currently licensed as a physical therapist in the state of nebraska or current compact state license required.
  • Basic life support (Bls) certification within 30 days of hire required, must be from an american heart association (Aha) endorsed program (Effective for new hires starting january 1, 2023 or later).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pelvic floor therapist (Pt)
  • Rehabilitation experience preferred.
  • Candidates who are board-Certified women’s health clinical specialists (Wcs) or have prior experience treating pelvic floor conditions are preferred. Mentorship is available.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical or Occupational Therapy and possess a valid license in the state of Nebraska. Additionally, applicants are required to have or obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
