The Registered Respiratory Therapist assesses, treats, and cares for patients with breathing disorders while maintaining accurate clinical documentation. They are responsible for operating respiratory equipment, performing diagnostic tests, and collaborating with the healthcare team to provide age-appropriate patient care.
Candidates must hold an Associate degree from an approved Respiratory Care program and be eligible for the NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist exam. Current licensure as an RRT by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy and BLS certification are required.
