The Physician Assistant manages all aspects of patient care, including evaluation, diagnosis, and education within the Institute for Digestive Health and Liver Disease. Responsibilities include running outpatient clinics, managing inpatient GI patients, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Candidates must hold a Physician Assistant degree from an accredited school and a valid State of Maryland PA License. Two years of practicing experience and CPR certification are preferred, along with strong communication and computer skills.
The Physician Assistant will work under Dr. Maheshwari's guidance within the Institute for Digestive Health and Liver Disease, managing all aspects of patient care, including evaluation, diagnosis, and education. This role includes independently running outpatient clinics and requires willingness to travel to off-site locations. Provide comprehensive care to inpatient GI patients, including assessment, management, and follow-up Collaborate with attending physicians to evaluate and manage urgent cases, including coordinating with endoscopy services Respond to consults from other hospital services Assist in coordinating care across multidisciplinary teams within the GI program Participate in patient education and discharge planning as needed
Must possess Physician Assistant degree from an accredited school. Inpatient experience or GI Experience a plus Two years of experience as a practicing PA preferred Must possess a State of Maryland PA License, in good standing Certification Requirements - CPR Must possess skills in the use of various computers and software programs and be computer literate Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees Must be able to follow written and oral instructions

Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
