The Exercise Physiologist assesses patients and develops individualized exercise prescriptions for cardiac rehabilitation programs. They are responsible for monitoring cardiac rhythms and vital signs during exercise sessions and initiating medical interventions when necessary.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology or a related field and possess at least two years of relevant experience. Required certifications include BLS and ACLS, along with strong proficiency in EKG analysis and stress testing protocols.

Strongly Preferred Skills Proficiency in 12‑Lead ECG interpretation Experience performing and monitoring cardiac stress testing Strong competency in EKG analysis and rhythm interpretation Hands-on experience with exercise stress testing protocols in a clinical or cardiology setting EDUCATION: Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma. Bachelor's: exercise physiology or related field CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE: BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider DEPARTMENT REQUIRED CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: Department, PAMF Cardiology: ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 2 years recent relevant experience SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, chemistry, and physics. In-depth knowledge of exercise testing, exercise equipment and quality control. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize independently with follow through in a timely manner. Ability to design, implement, and supervise individualized exercise prescriptions for people with chronic disease and disabling conditions. Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations.
