The Cardio-diagnostic Technologist performs various noninvasive and invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures, including EKGs, stress testing, and ambulatory arrhythmia monitoring. They also assist with patient rooming, chart management, and triaging clinical communications to ensure efficient department operations.
Candidates must possess an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences along with a certification in Cardiovascular Technology or as a Medical Assistant. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in cardio-diagnostic testing and knowledge of cardiac rhythms are required.
Rooming Office visits, Follow Up’s, Consults’, obtaining vital signs, reviewing medication reconciliation list, allergies, obtaining patient height/weight, and performance of 12 lead EKG’s.
Application of Holter and Event Monitoring systems per MD order. Follow up/triaging of urgent notifications obtained from third party Preventice company to appropriate parties (sending to RN vs/ MD).
Chart review to prepare for Cardio-diagnostic testing and consult visits. Performance of pre-procedural calls, triaging patient phone calls/EPIC messages, and ancillary clerical duties including ordering medical supplies.
