The Medical Assistant will support clinic operations by managing patient charts, recording vital signs, and assisting physicians with daily patient care. They are also responsible for scheduling procedures, managing referrals, and providing post-operative follow-up care.
Candidates must have completed a Medical Assistant program and possess at least 2 years of relevant experience. Previous experience in cardiology and proficiency with EKGs are required for this position.
Prepare and organize all charts for the physicians' clinic schedule Manage clinic operations, including taking vital signs, rooming patients, starting progress notes. Schedule all follow-up appointments and send tasks for vein center appointments; manage clinic referrals. Address patient issues related to pain and complications, discussing orders and care with physicians as needed. Record and file all clinic data. Ensure that all procedure packets are distributed when procedures are ordered in the clinic. Assist in vein procedures by scrubbing in. Prepare patients before procedures by rooming them, ensuring they change and sign all necessary paperwork, checking vital signs, and confirming that all consents are signed and accurate. Conduct post-operative calls to patients after procedures to check on their recovery and document their status. Schedule vein procedures as required.
