About the role

The therapist will provide intake services, evaluate referrals, and prepare necessary documentation such as diagnostic assessments and case histories according to regulatory policies. Responsibilities also include developing, reviewing, and revising individualized treatment plans with clients and providing ongoing therapy and supportive counseling services.

Schedule: Fee for Service; Daytime hours, Monday-Friday

Earn $28 - $40 per hour based on experience/certification.

Position Details

Provide intake services by evaluating incoming referrals to determine the appropriate treatment intervention.

Prepare diagnostic assessments, case histories and other related correspondence as per Merakey, DPW and DOH policies and regulations. Develop Treatment Plans: Develop a preliminary treatment plan based on client’s presenting problem. The preliminary treatment plan is to be completed by the end of the second counseling session. A Master Treatment is to be developed by the end of the fourth counseling session. The therapists and client will identify individualized treatment issues, long and short term goals, and the type and frequency of services to meet those goals. Therapists will review and revise treatment plans with the client every 60 days. The Master Treatment plan and subsequent Treatment plan updates are to be reviewed and signed by the client, therapists, clinical supervisor and psychiatrist or supervisory physician.

Provide ongoing therapy and supportive counseling services to assigned caseload. Conduct and complete client case consults with supervisor and/or other clinical staff as often as needed but at least once every 90 days for D&A clients for the first year, once a year thereafter.

Open positions in this county qualify for Pennsylvania’s Behavioral Health Higher Education Program (BHHEP), which offers candidates meaningful financial and career-building benefits. Through BHHEP, eligible students can receive a paid senior‑year internship with Merakey and may also access tuition assistance of up to $20,000 for bachelor’s programs or up to $40,000 for master’s programs, all while gaining hands‑on experience that strengthens their skills and future employability. Participants who pursue tuition assistance commit to two years of post‑graduation employment with the same provider, creating a smooth transition into the workforce and long‑term career stability. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology required.
  • At least 1 year experience in the delivery of psychological services or a CACD (Certified Addiction Counselor Diplomat) preferred.

Requirements
