The technologist coordinates and performs specialized vascular ultrasound examinations to assist in the diagnosis of vascular diseases. They also collaborate with medical staff to document patient histories and preliminary impressions while maintaining equipment and supplies.
Candidates must have at least two years of experience as a Vascular Lab Technologist or one year of experience plus an approved externship. Required certifications include RQI Healthcare Provider and either RVT, RT(VS), or RVS credentials.
Coordinates and prioritizes ordered exams. Collaborates and coordinates with medical staff including, but not limited to, physicians, APC's, medical fellows and residents, and other medical staff. Collects medical information and patient histories. Performs vascular ultrasound exams in accordance to the department and overseeing accredited body's outlined protocols and procedures. Appropriately documents exams and preliminary impressions. Cleans and maintains equipment, supplies, and work area. May be assigned shared mobile outreach duties in support of Vascular Surgery clinics at various outreach locations. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Demonstrated potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above. Ability to provide care to the population served. Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development. Ability to assess data regarding the patient's status. Ability to provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures manual. Demonstrated knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology. Demonstrated effective communication and human relation skills.
