The MRI Technologist performs imaging procedures and operates MRI/X-ray equipment under the direction of a radiologist. Responsibilities include patient positioning, administering contrast media, maintaining sterile technique during invasive procedures, and managing images within the PACS system.
Candidates must be high school graduates who have completed an AMA-approved Radiologic Technologist training program. Current ARRT/MRI registration and CPR certification are required.
Overview Performs ultrasound examinations of the heart and vessels to assist the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the cardiovascular system.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions Knowledgable of and selects appropriate ultrasound equipment for echocardiogram procedures. Monitors sound waves for quality of ultrasonic patterns and documents on appropriate media to obtain a permanent record of examiniation. Consults with physicians as required regarding collection of test data and critical test results. Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Inspects equipment daily to ensure it is operating effectively. Reports malfunctions. Collaborates effectively with other members of healthcare team concerning pertinent patient information and interventions needed. Completes other duties or task as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience RequiredEducation/Licensure: High school graduate or GED required, completion of ultrasound program; RVS or RVT eligible preferred .
