Performs delegated respiratory care treatments including patient assessments, therapy, and non-invasive mechanical ventilation. Assists with monitoring emergency procedures and supports the rapid response and code teams.
Must be a student in good standing enrolled in an AMA and NBRC approved Associate in Applied Science Degree Respiratory Care Program. Requires completion of the first year of didactic and clinical education and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Performs delegated respiratory care treatments involving non-invasively ventilated patients in medical/surgical units in cooperation with assigned licensed respiratory therapist resource. This includes and is not limited to: patient assessments, therapy, non-invasive mechanical ventilation, and monitoring emergency procedures according to department and hospital policies and procedures.
*Student in good standing, enrolled in an AMA and NBRC approved Associate in Applied Science Degree Respiratory Care Program. *Successfully completed the first year of a Respiratory Care didactic and clinical education or 1-year of patient care related experience. *High school diploma or equivalent required. *Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. *Upon graduation from a respiratory care program and acceptance of a respiratory therapist position at Children¿s Minnesota, you must provide proof of licensure submission to the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice (MBMP) within 3-months. Failure to meet this timeline could result in removal from the schedule and corrective action up to termination of employment.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employee’s scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
