The Physical Therapist evaluates and treats patients across the lifespan, developing and implementing individualized care plans to restore function and reduce pain. They are responsible for maintaining accurate medical documentation and collaborating effectively with the healthcare team.
Candidates must be graduates of a CAPTE-approved physical therapy program and hold or be eligible for licensure in Iowa. Entry-level graduates are accepted for this position.
Evaluates and treats physical therapy patients under physician orders in the outpatient and acute settings Develops treatment plans for all patients assigned to case load Maintains appropriate documentation in the patient’s medical record Ongoing commitment to reducing costs and improving productivity in the physical therapy department Maintains positive relationships with the health care team, patient and family Communicates effectively in writing and verbally with all appropriate members of the patient’s healthcare team
Education: Graduate of a Physical Therapist education program approved by The Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), a successor organization of CAPTE, or an education program outside the United States determined to be substantially equivalent to physical therapist entry-level education in the United States by a credentials evaluation organization approved by the American Physical Therapy Association. Passed an examination for Physical Therapists approved by the state in which physical therapy services are provided.
