The Nurturing Coach II engages at-risk families by providing evidence-based parenting curricula through home visits and group sessions. They are responsible for assessing child safety, developing family goals, and coordinating with community resources to support family needs.
Requirements summary
A bachelor's degree in human services or a related field is required, with a master's degree preferred. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a Level II background screen.
The Nurturing Coach II is responsible for engaging at-risk families involved in the system of care and providing evidence-based parenting programing though either the Nurturing Parenting (NPP), Parents as Teachers (PAT), or Parenting Journey (PJP) curriculum.
The NPP and PAT services are provided one-on-one at the family’s home, while PJP is provided in a group setting.
This individual will be responsible for assessing child safety and meeting the unique needs of the families served.
Communication and coordination with other agencies and community services is also required.
This individual must act with a high degree of independent judgment and under minimal supervision.
Kids Central Inc. serves five (5) counties within Circuit 5 which include Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion and Sumter counties. All staff must be able to work in any of the five counties we support and serve.
Services are provided in the home to meet the unique needs of the families served.
Essential functions
Provides direct services to children and their families, which may include:
Conducting both announced and unannounced, home visits at the child’s place of residence
Explaining programming and engaging families in services
Administering and reviewing comprehensive assessments with the family
Developing family goals in partnership with the family
Connecting individuals/families to community resources and completing referrals when necessary
Assessing child safety and well-being
Other duties and responsibilities may include:
Collaborative communication with referral sources and other service providers
Completing documentation and mandatory reports in the appropriate reporting systems, accurately and timely
Developing and maintaining relationships with other community agencies, organizations, and resources in an effort to provide comprehensive and effective services for clients (i.e., schools, courts, hospitals, etc.)

Qualifications
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field required. Master’s degree in social work or related field preferred. Experience in direct care for children and adolescents preferred; Experience working with ethnically diverse and low-income families and organizing community activities are also preferred.
Other Requirements
Ability to successfully clear a Level II Background Screen as required by Florida Statute and DCF.
Possess a valid Florida driver’s license and be insurable by the agency’s current insurance carrier.
Must meet eligibility to transport clients, including 100,000/300,000 Liability Insurance, possess an acceptable driving record, and have reliable transportation.
