The Veterinary Technician will support board-certified surgeons during complex procedures and monitor anesthesia for various surgical cases. They are also responsible for maintaining high-quality patient care and participating in an on-call rotation for emergencies.
Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of veterinary technician experience, preferably in specialty or emergency medicine. A Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential is preferred but not required.
Charleston Veterinary Referral Center is hiring a full- time Veterinary Technician to join our outstanding Surgery team! Schedule: Monday – Friday, variable day shifts between 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with a rotating on-call anesthesia schedule for nights, weekends, and holidays.
$25 – $32/hour, based on licensure and experience.

Charleston Veterinary Referral Center (CVRC) is a is a 24-hour emergency referral center located in CVRC located in beautiful Charleston, SC is the ONLY VECCS Level 1 certified facility in South Carolina, and 1 of only 2 in the southeast region of the United States! We currently have a 16,000 square foot, state of the art facility with plans to grow in the new year. Our emergency center is staffed 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to always support our community! Specialty services offered at CVRC include cardiology, internal medicine, neurology & neurosurgery, medical oncology (radiation oncology coming soon!), rehabilitation, soft tissue & orthopedic surgery. Our hospital houses an MRT, CT, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and digital radiographs for diagnostic imaging.

Minimum 3 years of veterinary technician experience, preferably in specialty or emergency medicine Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred but not required Strong understanding of basic veterinary medicine and surgical protocols Knowledge of common surgical instruments and their uses Experience with surgical patient preparation and positioning for a variety of procedures Experience monitoring anesthesia for abdominal, thoracic, orthopedic, and minimally invasive procedures Experience calculating and administering CRI medications Availability to participate in an anesthesia on-call rotation for nights, weekends, and holidays Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills with clients and team members About You: An experienced veterinary technician that thrives on the ever-changing environment, with strong communication skills seeking a cohesive, hard-working team, committed to quality patient care, and 5-star client service.
