Join our Hospitalist team as a Patient Throughput Specialist (PTS) — an office-based role where your nursing expertise supports hospital operations, patient safety, and care continuity behind the scenes.
As a Patient Throughput Specialist, you’ll coordinate patient movement during inpatient stays, ensuring patients are placed with the right care team at the right time.
You’ll use EPIC and other tools to remotely triage patients, manage consults, and support seamless hospital operations — all while collaborating closely with the Transfer Center, Emergency Department, and consulting services.
This role is perfect for nurses who love clinical reasoning, enjoy working with data and systems, and want to remain connected to patient care without the physical demands of bedside nursing.
The Patient Placement RN is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the safe, timely, and efficient placement of patients within the hospital.
This role ensures appropriate bed assignment, supports optimal patient throughput, and collaborates with physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to promote quality care and patient satisfaction.
This position serves as the central hub for the Hospital Medicine Service (HMS), coordinating referrals from Emergency Room physicians, community physicians, LSU, and other healthcare providers.
The RN utilizes clinical expertise and comprehensive knowledge of hospital systems to triage patients, match them with appropriate teams, and ensure they are seen promptly.
