About the role

Perform diagnostic X-ray and CT imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide efficient imaging services in surgical, inpatient, and emergency settings.

Astera Health is currently accepting applications for a XR/CT Technologist.

This position is scheduled for 0.7 FTE (average 56 hours per biweekly pay period), primarily two 12-hour shifts (Wednesdays and Thursdays overnight, 7 pm – 7 am), as well as working every 3rd weekend overnight (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 11 pm – 7 am). Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic X-ray and CT imaging procedures according to physician orders and department protocols.

Prepare and position patients to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Verify patient identity, review exam orders, and explain procedures to patients.

Perform portable imaging for surgical settings, inpatients, and emergency department patients as needed.

Assist with emergency and trauma imaging in collaboration with physicians and nursing staff.

Operate and maintain radiography and CT equipment, performing routine quality control checks.

Document procedures accurately in Epic and PACS systems.

Follow radiation safety guidelines and ALARA principles to protect patients and staff.

Respond to after-hours and weekend imaging needs as required.

Collaborate with radiologists, providers, and healthcare team members to ensure efficient patient care.

Education and Experience Required

  • Completion of a formal training in an AMA approved school for Registered Radiologic Technologists
  • A. R. R. T. Certification
  • 1-2 years experience in a hospital setting performing x-rays and CT is preferred

Pay or shift range

$29.56 USD to $50.60 USD
