Performs respiratory care procedures, administers medications, and manages mechanical ventilators according to physician treatment plans. Monitors patient progress, performs diagnostic tests like EKGs and pulmonary function evaluations, and maintains equipment functionality.
Requires graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program and a minimum of an Associate of Science degree. Candidates must hold a current Michigan Respiratory Therapist license and registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care, with BLS certification required.

ROC- Hours may be adjusted in response to workload demands. Low census may be utilized in accordance with hospital policy. Weekend and Holiday Rotation may be required.
Under general supervision, performs respiratory care related procedures in accordance with physician’s treatment plan and established policies and procedures. Assesses patient’s condition, administers prescribed therapy and aerosolized medications, observes and records patient’s progress and response to therapy modalities including adverse reactions to drugs and therapy; Draws and analyzes arterial blood samples; Mechanical ventilator management; Performs EKGs; Performs basic pulmonary function testing/evaluation; Applies event monitors; Applies and downloads data from Holter Monitoring systems; Assists with stress testing; Communicates effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians and other system employees as needed, regarding patient care needs; Checks equipment regularly for proper functioning.
1. Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care. 2. Current License - Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
