The occupational therapist evaluates and administers treatment plans for adult and pediatric patients to maximize functional independence. They also participate in departmental operations, budget formulation, and quality improvement activities.
Candidates must hold a valid Florida Occupational Therapist license and a BLS certification from the American Heart Association. The role requires the ability to perform clinical evaluations and manage patient care within a healthcare facility.
This position serves as a per diem occupational therapist; responsible for evaluation, planning, directing, and administering of adult and pediatric occupational therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. Administers treatments and occupational agents as prescribed by a referring physician to maximize function and reduce disability following injury, disease, physical disability or developmental disability. The per diem occupational therapist assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.
The per diem occupational therapist participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Provides input in formulating budget, assists in evaluating department performance versus budget controls and takes appropriate action to remain in budget guidelines. This position ensures that patient changes are accurate and entered on a timely basis. This position requires participation in all infection control, departmental equipment training, and organizational safety and fire safety programs.
The per diem occupational therapist trains other personnel and provides input in job evaluations and performance analysis.
Must possess a valid Florida Occupational Therapist license.
