About the role

The ultrasonographer performs diagnostic sonographic examinations and operates complex imaging equipment under the direction of the Medical Director. They are also responsible for maintaining patient records, ensuring equipment quality control, and participating in on-call and weekend coverage.

Overview

Job Duties Performs diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing sonographic equipment to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological and anatomical data under the direction of the Medical Director.

Responsibilities

  • Essential Functions
  • Technologist will be required to perform invasive and noninvasive procedures, utilize sterile techniques when necessary, and operate complex imaging equipment under the direction of the Director and/or Manager.
  • Participates in weekend schedule coverage, must participates in the on call schedule where applicable. Covers additional shifts based on the department need.
  • Follow scanning protocols as established by the radiologist.
  • Initiates life support measures as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of department and notifies Bio-Med and other service engineers of equipment issues
  • Reviews image quality and forwards timely to PACS. Performs and logs QA/QC for equipment in use.
  • Staff orientation, onboarding, training and development.
  • Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory training.
  • Collects and document appropriate patient history. Maintains patient confidentiality through HIPPA requirements.
  • Preparation for the Joint Commission, ACR, Stericycle Inspections and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience Requirements 2 years specialized training required Education Requirements High School Diploma or GED required Certificate Vocational Training; Graduate of Ultrasound Certificate Program required One year clinical ultrasound experience preferred ARDMS Certified required at time of hire Additional Details: **Graduate from a two-year cardiovascular technologist program*
  • **Completion of formal education and/or training in vascular technology*
  • Certification/Licensure Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or RVS (CCI) required Basic Life Support (BLS) required UFJPI is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free Workplace

Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED and have completed a two-year cardiovascular technologist program or ultrasound certificate program. Required certifications include ARDMS, RVT or RVS, and Basic Life Support (BLS).
