The counselor will provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions to support clients in recovery from substance use disorders. They are responsible for conducting clinical assessments and collaborating with the treatment team to develop effective, evidence-based recovery plans.
Candidates must hold a master's degree in a relevant field and possess active licensure such as LCPC, LCSW, or LMFT. A minimum of two years of non-internship experience in substance use disorder treatment and residential or outpatient settings is required.

SUD Counselor- Job Summary The Substance Use Disorder Counselor’s role is to support others in recovery from a substance use disorder. The SUD Counselor will provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions to assist recovering individuals in preventing relapse and promoting long-term recovery. The SUD counselor will use an outcomes-based approach and evidenced-based practices to achieve results. Essential Job Functions Conduct confidential, quality assessments, that are gender-responsive and trauma-informed, utilizing ASAM criteria to determine the appropriate level of care. Use a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to work collaboratively with clients and internal and external Hygea Healthcare treatment team members to help support clients in their treatment and recovery. Provide clinical consultation to referral resources, mentors, family members, and others to help. Conduct individual, group, and family counseling sessions. Assist clients to meet all requirements of their care and maintain an update and individualized treatment plan for each client. Use evidence-based practices to meet the clinical needs of each client. Evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment program and communicate needs, progress, and barriers. Participate in agency and community committees. Provide education by presentation or workshops to clients, families, or the community at large. Consistently follow agency requirements for documentation completion to insure timely filing for billing and regulatory compliance. Availability to be on-call for patient care and required holiday ( One per year ).
