About the role

The Behavioral Health Technician supports and monitors clients in a residential facility while ensuring a safe and clean environment. They assist with daily living activities, facilitate house meetings, and perform crisis intervention as needed.

Join Our Team at Hygea Healthcare’s 16-bed residential SUD facility in Linthicum, MD! facility cleanliness through sanitizing, dusting, and deep cleaning across all client areas (e.g., kitchen, dining room, gym Job Summary The Behavioral Health Technician is responsible for supporting and monitoring clients in the program and ensuring the physical environment is safe and clean.

He/she will maintain close communication with clinical, nursing, and administrative staff to ensure client needs are met.

Essential Job Functions Provides care to clients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment.

Ensures facility cleanliness through sanitizing, dusting, and deep cleaning across all client areas (e.g., kitchen, dining room, gym).

Assists clients with activities of daily living; attends to client behavioral problems and provides assistance in crisis intervention, as needed.

Observes and manages urine drug testing and breathalyzer screening.

Facilitates house meetings in the Program Manager's absence.

Maintains confidentiality of client records.

Maintains established institutional policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.

Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.

May provide liaison with clients, client families, or external facilities and agencies.

Education and Experience High School Diploma, GED, or willingness to obtain GED Current certification in First Aid/CPR preferred.

Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalent (Associate's degree in mental health or addiction treatment setting preferred) Training in motivational interviewing is a plus.

Training in trauma-informed care is a plus.

Recovery coach training is a plus.

Basic computer and keyboarding skills (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel) Knowledge of community resources.
