Apply today and help us shape the future of addiction treatment in Middle River! Job Summary The Substance Use Counselor’s role is to support others in recovery from a substance use disorder. The Substance Use Counselor will provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions to assist recovering individuals in preventing relapse and promoting long-term recovery. The Substance Use counselor will use an outcomes-based approach and evidenced-based practices to achieve results. Essential Job Functions Conduct confidential, quality assessments, that are gender-responsive and trauma-informed, utilizing ASAM criteria to determine the appropriate level of care. Use a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to work collaboratively with clients and internal and external Hygea Healthcare treatment team members to help support clients in their treatment and recovery. Conduct individual, group, and family sessions, using evidence-based modalities and interventions. Work with a diverse and passionate team of professionals who share your vision and values. Education and Experience Minimum of Associates Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Human Services or Addictions. Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field with two or more years in a AOD or mental health setting preferred. Licensed or Certified as a SUD Counselor: CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LCADC, LCPC, LCSW. Graduate level counselors (LGPC,LGADC, LGSW) welcome to apply. Experience in Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment: Bring prior experience in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, with a preference for experience in detox practices. Crisis Management Skills: Proficient in providing support to clients during moments of crisis, equipped with effective verbal de-escalation techniques. Collaborative Attitude: A team player who is dedicated to actively engaging in our mission to foster positive change.
