The Orthopedic Assistant applies orthopedic treatments and assists with patient care, including fracture management and suture removal. They also support minor office procedures and handle the scheduling of surgeries.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and possess medical terminology knowledge. Completion of an Orthopedic Technology program and two to four years of experience are preferred.
Applies orthopedic treatment items/technologies to patients upon the order of a physician. Assists in the care of the orthopedic patient, including care of fractures, casting and suture removals. Assists with minor office procedures. Schedules surgeries.
