About the role

The Histology Technician is responsible for processing, embedding, and sectioning tissue specimens using both manual and automated laboratory equipment. They will also perform special stains and cryotomy on skin specimens to support diagnostic services.

Hourly Pay Range

$28.47 - $42.71 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

What you will do

  • Processing tissues using Xpress microwave rapid tissue processor
  • Embedding: Manual and Automated using Sakura Auto TEK embedder
  • Microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks both manual and auto embedded
  • Recuts of tissue blocks
  • Special Stains
  • IF cryotomy of skin specimens

What you will need

Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Laboratory Science and Histology routine training or Completed accredited Histology Technology program.

Certification: HT/HTL Certificate (ASCP), equivalent or eligible.

Experience: 1 year experience in Histology Laboratory preferred
