The Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for performing laboratory operations, maintaining specimen integrity, and ensuring accurate test procedures. They must also uphold professional accountability, manage quality control documentation, and adhere to safety standards within the microbiology lab.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field and have completed an approved medical technician training program. Professional certification such as MLS (ASCP) or MT (ASCP) is required within six months of hire, and two years of laboratory experience is preferred.
