The Street Medicine Physician provides medical and surgical care to homeless patients using a harm reduction and trauma-informed approach. They coordinate patient care with multidisciplinary teams and ensure accurate clinical documentation.
Candidates must hold a degree from an accredited medical school and have completed residency training. A valid Connecticut medical license and board certification or eligibility are required.
The Per Diem Street Medicine Physician provides reasonable and prudent medical/surgical care. They will practice appropriate management, using a harm reduction trauma informed approach with sound clinical judgment based on best practice standards and evidenced based medicine. Provides general medical care, patient education and treatment to patients of CS-HHC. Promotes and maintains health by providing services under the supervision of the Clinical Director of Homeless Care and the Chief of Medicine.
Degree from an accredited Medical School. Documented completion of Residency training from an accredited institution. CPR Certification is required.
Board Certification or Board Eligibility. (Board certification must be attained within the timeframe dictated by one’s specialty in order to remain on staff at the CS-HHC if one was originally board-eligible at the time of one’s hire.) Connecticut Licensure. Admitting privileges at Yale-New Haven Hospital, HSR, and/or Griffin Hospital as indicated.
