Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant Baptist Health Medical Group – Birmingham, AL Locations: Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital 2018 Brookwood Medical Center Drive Birmingham, AL 35209 Baptist Health Princeton Hospital Schedule & Call Full-time position Rotating call schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays Shared call across APP team to support work-life balance Position Overview Baptist Health Medical Group is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA-C) to support a high-performing, multi-site surgical team across Brookwood and Princeton hospitals. This role will directly support three cardiothoracic surgeons and work alongside a team of seven to eight Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). This is a dynamic role offering exposure to the full continuum of cardiothoracic surgical care- including first assist, pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative management. Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities First assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures Perform pre-operative evaluations and post-operative rounding Manage ICU and step-down patients in collaboration with surgeons Participate in call rotation (nights and weekends required) Coordinate care across multiple sites to ensure continuity and quality outcomes
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program PA-C certification required Active or eligible for Alabama licensure Cardiothoracic surgery experience preferred (new graduates with strong surgical rotations considered) BLS and ACLS certification required
