The Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for performing patient assessments, general respiratory care, and critical care procedures. They also manage equipment maintenance and provide patient education.
Candidates must hold an Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy Sciences and be credentialed as an RRT by the NBRC. Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required along with a Georgia state license.
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Performing patient assessments, general respiratory care procedures and protocols, critical care procedures in adult care areas, blood gas analysis, maintenance and management of all equipment and patient education.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy Sciences MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Previous Working Experience in Respiratory care, or successful completion of department specific orientation including skills validation of competencies for the duties and responsibilities of this level. MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)and Licensed by the State of Georgia under the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners.BLS, ACLS (ALS can be used in place of ACLS) and PALS required ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:Current certifications in BCLS, ACLS.
