Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

Provides Respiratory care and procedures for patients of all ages. Expected to know all equipment in detail, including the functions, indications for use and physiological effect on the patient. Responds to emergencies throughout the facility.

9. Delivers care to patients from infancy through geriatrics. Understands and reacts effectively to the unique needs of each patient.
10. Administers respiratory medications and treatments.
11. Evaluates patient response to interventions and acts accordingly.
12. Communicates effectively with peers, team members, patients, visitors & others.
13. Participates in required continuing education.
14. Demonstrates vigilance in administration of medications and treatments.

Required Education and Experience
1. Must be able to think clearly during emergencies & be able to function well in extremely stressful situations. Must have the ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
1. State of Illinois Respiratory Care Provider.
2. CPR certification.
3. Preferred RRT certification, PALS certification, ACLS certification and Neonatal certification.
